How Plutarch’s Lives of the Noble Greeks and Romans Speaks to 21st Century America
with Raymond Ciacci
Kibbitznest Liberal Arts Discussions are a collaboration with The University of Chicago Graham School to host presentations and discussions of original research.
Let Plutarch speak on his own behalf concerning his life!
Plutarch like many great historians and literary figures' works are accessible by examining when they "step out" of the work in question. We will examine the larger question of “stepping out” in terms of examples of other literary figures and historians and more specifically Plutarch as a means of getting closer
to the historian’s intention.
