Kibbitznest is a 501(c)3 organization. Kibbitznest, Inc is dedicated to the preservation of quality human interaction. Our ultimate objective is to promote a better understanding of the world and its people by coming together face-to-face to experience being human by teaching, by learning, by listening, by reading, by arguing, by discussing, and by inquiring. We encourage a balance between face to face and electronic communication.
Grandma’s House is a poetry show and open mic tucked in a cozy corner of Kibbitznest Books, Brews & Blarney. Come on out to perform some of your work or to watch our featured poet. It’s just like being in your Grandma’s living room, only with less mothballs and more earth shattering poetry.
On February 15th, Grandma’s House welcomes Tim “Toaster” Henderson. Toaster is a poet that uses a kaleidoscope of artistic vision to create, express, and teach. Toaster has represented several slam teams in national poetry slam competitions across the country. Toaster was the Grand Slam Champion for Mental Graffiti in 2016, and went on to reach 9th in the Individual World Poetry Slam of that year. His work has been featured on Lexus Verses and Flow, NPR, and other things that seem impressive. You can find Toaster's work on youtube, in your local dive bar bathroom stall, and by following him on social media:
